Brittany Spaniels: Only two exhibits with a large dog of good colour and type and a correct size bitch who was a poor mover.

BRITTANY SPANIELS: Some work needs to be done here. Several of the exhibits looked nice when standing, but it was impossible to judge accurately when they moved. Please give them some additional experience, so that they will be able to cope with the ring requirements. Size can be a problem as you know, therefore please consider your breeding program carefully.

BRITTANY SPANIELS: Good, Condition of the dog very good. Ample substance and good type in the top winners.

Second Day – Thursday, 20th September, 1979 BRITTANY SPANIELS: The right type with long hair, unfortunately there were two types, some with good long heads, good long foreheads and good eyes. These dogs have shining good coats. The second type had short forefaces and heavy heads, also very light in eye. Judge: MRS C. Lindhe of Sweden

1980 Melbourne Royal

BRITTANY SPANIELS: In this breed I found most had light bodies with good heads and were active. Some had tail set on a little low, however I prefer the tail set to be a little higher. The winning dog had good character, moved well and was an excellent type.

1981 Melbourne Royal BRITTANY SPANIELS: The top placements were nicely proportioned. They had very good heads and expressions and good movement. Most were of a good all around type and generally well balanced. I was pleased to see that this breed, which is one of the newer breeds here, is coming all so nicely. Judge: Mrs E. Thomsen of USA

1982 Melbourne Royal BRITTANY SPANIELS: A bit mixed in head type and handling leaves a lot to be desired. Judge: Mrs Ulla Magnusson of Sweden

1983 Melbourne Royal BRITTANY SPANIELS: This breed needs a few corrections. More uniformity in sizez, better feet. Heads and coat were very good. Also temperament good. More reach of neck would improve some. Judge: Mr R. Cooper

Thursday, 27th September, 1984 BRITTANY SPANIELS: I spoke to some of you as I awarded sashes- some showed promise. A few had too much of a Spaniel head. I wish you success in achieving your goals with this breed. Judge: Mr Walt Shellenbarger USA

1985 Melbourne Royal BRITTANY SPANIELS: Watch that height!!! Some fairly good ones were just too big for me. Move any dog too fast and he’ll crab on you. Slow down. Judge: Mr J. Tacker USA

Monday 22nd September,1986 BRITTANY SPANIELS: Not many entered, but all were of th same type. The dog C.C. a nicely coated dog, good body and head and moved well. The winning bitch was similar to the dog. Judge: Mr Kazu Igarashi, Japan
